Program Overview
The Medical Imaging Program offered by Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences is a hospital-based certificate program in radiography. Students accepted into the program are also automatically enrolled in Alvernia University’s Associate of Science in Medical Imaging degree program. Through this dual enrollment arrangement, students move simultaneously through both curricula, earning a certificate of completion awarded by Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences as well as an Associate Degree from Alvernia University. As such, program graduates satisfying all requirements of both programs are eligible to apply to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for consideration to sit for the national credentialing examination.
Graduates of the 27-month dual enrollment program are well prepared for entry-level employment as diagnostic radiographers and have consistently transitioned into a variety of health settings with ease as a result of their well-structured education and varied clinical experiences. Graduates choosing to do so may seamlessly advance their career through enrollment in either the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Science or Healthcare Administration degree programs offered by Alvernia University.

Related Requirements
The following are required as part of or in addition to the General Education/Core: BIO 107, 117, 108, 118, COM 101, MAT 102, PHI 105, THE 210, SOC 306. Two Liberal Arts Electives are also required: 3 credits Communication Elective (in addition to COM 101) and 3 credits Creative Expressions Elective (such as Art, Music, Theater, or Literature).
