What is Title IX?
Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in the education programs and activities of entities that receive federal financial assistance. These programs and activities include "all of the operations of ... a college, university, or other postsecondary institution, or a public system of higher education. Title IX's nondiscrimination protections apply to student recruitment, admissions, educational programs (including individual courses), research, housing, counseling, financial and employment assistance, health and insurance benefits and health services.”
Title IX prohibits sex-based discrimination, including sexual harassment, which limits the ability to participate in and benefit from a program or activity.
Who must comply with Title IX?
Students, faculty, staff, directors, vendors, visitors, and all individuals participating in RHSHS academic or non-academic activities.
School Policy Statement
RHSHS is committed to providing an environment free from sexual harassment or sexual misconduct of any form.
RHSHS does not separate or treat any person differently based on sex in a manner that subjects them to more than de minimize harm, except in the limited specified circumstances permitted by Title IX.
Each member of the School community is expected to assume responsibility for his/her conduct, to report behaviors that may violate this policy, and to take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent or stop acts of sex-based discrimination or harassment.
RHSHS prohibits acts of sex-based discrimination and harassment on the School campus, off-campus housing, and/or occurring anywhere within the School community.
It is the policy of RHSHS to address any reports of sexual harassment and/or sexual misconduct in accordance with Title IX regulations.

Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences (RHSHS) is committed to providing a safe and healthy educational environment for all individuals. RHSHS does not discriminate in any education program or activity that it operates. including in admission and employment. RHSHS follows federal state and local regulations including current Title IX requirements. Discrimination based on sex, pregnancy or related conditions, age, race, color, national origin, religion, creed, marital status, disability, economic means or veteran status is prohibited.
How to Make a Report
To report information about conduct that may constitute sex-based discrimination or harassment under Title IX, please contact the RHSHS Title IX Coordinator who will then coordinate the review, investigation, and resolution of all reports to ensure compliance with Title IX policy and procedure. All reports will be handled by designated RHSHS authorities who may work in consultation with Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Risk Management, Security, legal consultants, or external consulting agencies depending on the nature and timing of the complaint.
