Donating to Reading Hospital's Street Medicine Program

At any one point in time, more than 500 homeless men, women, and children can be found living on the streets of Reading,* under bridges, in shelters, or in temporary camps.

Homelessness increases existing health problems and causes new health conditions. Chronic diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, and mental health disorders worsen under the adverse conditions of homelessness.

Reading Hospital’s groundbreaking Street Medicine Program is helping the underserved in our community receive the medical care they need in some of Berks County’s most remote locations.
