Pink Power Brunch on October 1 Designed to Celebrate Good Health

The Reading area's 10th annual Pink Power Celebration will take place on Sunday, October 1, at the DoubleTree Hotel, 701 Penn Street, Reading. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The event is being presented by Reading Hospital McGlinn Cancer Institute and Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.

The Pink Power Brunch is designed to inspire and empower participants and to celebrate good health. It will include a healthy brunch, educational presentations and exhibits. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk with cancer care providers; browse informative exhibits on topics such as the latest in breast health, diet, exercise, appearance counseling, rehab and wellness; and interact with vendors who provide health and beauty products and services.

During brunch, a panel of Reading Health physicians will discuss the latest advances in early detection, diagnosis, genetics and personalized treatment. The physicians include Nicole Agostino, DO, Hematology Oncology; Michael Brown, MD, Medical Director, McGlinn Cancer Institute; Hye Hwa Christine Cho, DO, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and Nick Leasure, MD, Hematology Oncology.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. McGlinn Cancer Institute provides breast cancer patients with access to the region's most sophisticated leading-edge technology, educational and support services, and clinical trials. The institute is nationally recognized for offering the very best in cancer care. It has received special recognition from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
