Focus on Well Care
Pediatrics – Tower Health Medical Group believes that well-care exams play an important role in keeping children healthy. These visits provide an opportunity for our providers to examine your child’s growth and development, and discuss age specific health, behavior, and safety issues. These exams often include a vision screening, lab work, and routine immunizations. We encourage families to bring a list of questions regarding their child’s health and development to well care child visits.
Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment only. Please advise us in advance if another child needs to be evaluated. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us 24-hour notice. If you are a new patient or have not been seen in pediatrics in three years or more, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out new patient forms and health insurance information.
Medical Emergencies
One of our physicians is on call 24-hours a day, 365 days a year for cases of medical emergency. If your child has an urgent medical problem, please call
the office immediately and indicate that you are calling regarding an urgent medical problem. Our answering service will contact the physician on call. The physician will guide you in the care of your child.
If you feel that any delay could result in a life-threatening situation, please call 9-1-1.
Referrals
When medically necessary, one of our physicians may refer your child to a specialist for treatment. We will also help you select the proper pediatric specialist and continue to coordinate their care with the consulting physician. Unless your managed care plan allows you to go directly to a specialist, if you access specialty care without a prior referral, you will most likely be responsible for the bill associated with the care.
