Scheetz Trust Fund Scholarship

The Scheetz Trust was formed by a donation from Elsie Scheetz to the Reading Hospital for the sole purpose of Nurse Education. These funds are invested on a yearly basis and the return on that investment is what provides the resources to fund the scholarship each year. Annual awards and criteria may vary from year to year.

Third Level Nursing students may qualify for an award based upon one of the two criteria as follows:

  1. Merit – have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher after the Spring semester of their 2nd Level

OR

2. Financial Need - have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) not exceeding 11,000 based upon the current award year’s completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

No scholarship application is necessary. Merit scholarships will be selected first followed by an unduplicated listing of Financial Need scholarship recipients.

Eligible candidates will be determined each May by the Director of Financial Aid and Budget with approval from the RHSHS Director.

Please note that if the Scheetz Scholarship award in combination with other aid awarded in an academic year exceeds the student’s Cost of Attendance, loan disbursements may be reduced.
