Community Benefit Programs
Reading Hospital's commitment is demonstrated in the regular provision of healthcare beyond its walls, combining permanent sites in medically underserved areas with a yearlong calendar of screenings, health fairs, and educational programs targeted to improve the health and well being of the community. Outreach services are offered, regardless of ability to pay.
Free or low-cost screenings are offered on an annual basis at various times throughout the year, and registration is required. Please call 484-628-HELP for more information.
Health Fairs allow Reading Hospital to connect and educate the community on the services we provide. If you would like to request Reading Hospital presence at your health fair, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Developed by the Boy Scouts of America, Medical Explorers is a program offered to high school students in grades 9-12 who are interested in learning about careers in healthcare. Posts occur monthly from September through May and are held the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Students are welcome to join Medical Explorers anytime throughout the school year.

Knowledge can be a powerful tool in maintaining your health. We’re committed to improving the health of the community we serve. That’s why we created Reading Hospital Speakers Bureau.
Reading Hospital Speakers Bureau shares valuable information about a wide range of healthcare topics that affect everyone in our community. And there is no cost to your organization!
Our speakers, each with a distinctive style, are prepared to talk for 20 to 30 minutes. Some speakers have a formal presentation followed by a question-and-answer period. Others are less formal, and encourage questions anytime during the presentation.
View our brochure [PDF], which includes a list of Speakers Bureau topics. If there is a specific healthcare topic not on our list, we may be able to tailor a program to meet your needs. To schedule a speaker, email email@example.com. Please allow a minimum of six weeks notice.
Bike Share Program
Reading Hospital has rolled out an employee bike-share program designed to promote wellness and a more active, healthy lifestyle among employees. Hospital employees are encouraged to use the bikes to attend meetings, go to lunch, run errands or simply take a ride and get some exercise.
