Congratulations on your acceptance!

Acceptance to your chosen program is exciting! To achieve your final acceptance and enrollment status, you must complete all post-acceptance requirements before you start class. All accepted students receive an official acceptance letter and checklist with their Accepted Student Packet.

Post-acceptance Requirements and Checklist

Begin working on the post-acceptance requirements and checklist as soon as receiving the information. Your final enrollment and ability to begin class is contingent upon completing all post-acceptance requirements and all paperwork included in the Accepted Student Packet by the established deadlines. Your unique and specific due dates are noted on your Applicant Follow-Up letter which is sent to you approximately bi-weekly from acceptance to completion of requirements.

Confirmation of Enrollment

To secure your seat in the class, accepted students have two weeks from the date of the acceptance letter to confirm the offer of admission. Complete and submit your Confirmation of Enrollment online along with your non-refundable confirmation fee by the due date. If you are paying by check, please mail your payment along with the completed Confirmation of Enrollment page found in your Accepted Student Packet.

Background Checks

Accepted students are responsible for completing four background checks via our third-party vendor DISA Healthcare Technology/CastleBranch. Our school package code is RE66. The estimated cost for the background checks is approximately $105. Specific instructions regarding the process are located within the Accepted Student Packet.

The following background checks are required:

  1. PA State Police Criminal Record Check
  2. Nationwide Healthcare Fraud and Abuse Scan
  3. Fingerprint – PA Department of Human Services (PA DHS)
  4. PA Child Abuse History Certification

The entire clearance process takes at least six weeks to complete.

Student Health Packet and Immunization Records

A student health packet is included in the Accepted Student Packet. All health forms must be completed by the student and their Primary Care Physician. Completed health forms are reviewed by Reading Hospital Student Health Services at the time of your health appointment/drug screening. For more information on health requirements, please review the student health services policy.

If you have questions pertaining to the health forms, immunizations, lab work, or health insurance, please contact the Student Health Services at 484-628-8499 or RHEmployeeHealth@towerhealth.org.

Health Insurance

All students must show proof of valid health insurance as part of the post-acceptance process and throughout their enrollment in their academic program. A copy of the health insurance card (front and back) must be submitted along with the completed health packet at the time of appointment at the Student Health Services. If you do not have insurance coverage the following could be potential resources:

  1. Pennie.com (must be during open enrollment, unless you have had a recent life change)
  2. Healthcare.gov
  3. Pennsylvaniahealthcoverage.org
  4. Aetnastudenthealth.com

Final Official Transcripts

Prior to starting class, all accepted students must submit their final official high school and/or post-secondary transcripts. To receive any transfer credit, the final official transcript or College Board AP Score Report must be received in the Admissions Office by the established deadlines on your Applicant Follow-Up letter.

CPR

Only new students going directly into clinical rotation in their first semester must submit a copy of their CPR certification as a post-acceptance requirement.  The only acceptable CPR card is the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Professional (AHA-BLS).  Certification classes for all other students are provided by RHSHS during your enrollment.  Students must have a valid CPR card on record throughout their program during clinical rotations.
