Mark B. Woodland, MS, MD
Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Woodland is a graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine, Villanova University, and Ursinus College with Honors in philosophy and religion. He has recently been appointed as Vice Chair of the CREOG Council. Dr. Woodland received the 1995 and 2001 CREOG Faculty Award for excellence in teaching and was also recognized for excellence in teaching and practice by being awarded the 21st and 27th Annual Clarence C. Briscoe Recognition from Pennsylvania Hospital. He serves on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Journal of OBGYN, who recognized him as one of the top 5 percent of reviewers. He also remains active in PA ACOG as an advocate for trainees and practitioners in women’s health and is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, NBME.
Peter F. Schnatz, DO

Residency Program Director, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
A graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey, Dr. Schnatz completed his undergraduate studies at Drew University and Post-baccalaureate training at Columbia University. Dr. Schnatz completed his Internal Medicine and OB/GYN residencies at The University of Connecticut, in Farmington, Connecticut. Certified by both the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Schnatz is also a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner. He is a 2009 recipient of the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award.

Xuezhi Jiang, MD
Faculty Associate, Clerkship Director
Dr. Jiang completed his graduate studies at the University of Illinois. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2010. In addition to being recognized by the AAGL as an Honorary Resident, Dr. Jiang has received several academic awards. Dr. Jiang has a strong commitment to research as evidenced by his numerous publications and is eager to continue pursuing his interests in clinical research.
Dominic J. Cammarano, DO
Chief, Section of Gynecology
Dr. Cammarano is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated Cum Laude. Dr. Cammarano completed his OB/GYN residency at Allegheny General Hospital, in Pittsburgh, PA. Certified by the American Board of Obstetricians & Gynecologists; Dr. Cammarano is a member of the American Medical Association, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and Philadelphia Obstetrical Society. Dr. Cammarano has undergone extensive training in robotic surgery. Along with being the owner and Medical Director of Reading Birth & Women’s Center, Dr. Cammarano is a Section Chief of Gynecology. He is a recipient of the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award.
Jean M. Payer, MD
Chief, Section of Obstetrics
Dr. Payer is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and residency training at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Payer is involved in full-time clinical practice, is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a member of ACOG, AMA, BCMS, AOA, and ISCD.
John J. Dougherty, MD
Associate Residency Program Director
Dr. John J. Dougherty is a graduate of Hahnemann University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. After twelve years in private practice, Dr. Dougherty joined the full-time faculty as Associate Residency Program Director in July of 2012. Dr. Dougherty was awarded the APGO Teaching Excellence Award in 2007 and the Excellence in Resident Teaching Award in the 2005-2006 and 2011-2012 academic years. He is board certified and a member of ACOG, AAGL, ABOG, MGMA, Tri-County Medical Society, and Berks County Medical Society.
Gerald W. Ferry, III, MD
Dr. Ferry graduated from Temple University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Reading Hospital. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Ferry was the 2009 recipient of the APGO (Association of Professor’s in Gynecology) Excellence in Teaching Award for his outstanding teaching practices and commitment to teaching excellence.

Richard K. DeVeaux, MD
Perinatologist, Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Dr. DeVeaux graduated from Hahnemann Medical College, and completed his residency at Hahnemann University Hospital. He is board certified in both Maternal and Fetal Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. DeVeaux received his fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He was a 2011 recipient of the CREOG National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education.
Bernice Robinson-Bennett, MD
Faculty Associate, Section of Gynecologic Oncology
Dr. Robinson-Bennett graduated from UMDNJ - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and completed her residency at Reading Hospital. Dr. Robinson-Bennett received a Master of Medical Science degree and completed her Gynecologic Oncology fellowship at University of Texas Medical Branch.
John B. Villeneuve, MD
Faculty Associate, Section of Gynecologic Oncology
Dr. Villeneuve completed medical school at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. His residency training was completed at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Following residency, Dr. Villeneuve completed a Gynecologic Oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.
Shahab S. Minassian, MD
Chief, Section of Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility
Dr. Minassian graduated from Jefferson Medical College, and completed his residency at Abington Memorial Hospital. He is board certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Minassian completed his Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at Jefferson Medical College. He also received the 2012 APGO Award for excellence in student education an is a Clinical Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jefferson Medical College.

Christopher J. Pugh, DO
Coordinator, Resident Education in Minimally Invasive Surgery
Dr. Pugh graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training at Reading Hospital. Following his residency training, Dr. Pugh completed a Minimally Invasive Surgical & Robotic Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Group in Memphis, Tennessee.
