150 Fitness Challenge

  • Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Races begin and end at the Clock Tower on 6th Avenue.
  • Fitness Festival activities will take place in the E-Building flat parking lot between the DOB and the Sixth Avenue Garage (accessible from Spruce Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues).

Join us for a full day of fun celebrating Reading Hospital’s 150th Anniversary. Weekend warriors, elite athletes, kids, teens, families, and seniors are invited to take part in activities that promote healthy lifestyles.

Family Fitness Festival

FREE fun activities for all ages from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Reading Hospital

  • Champion Connection – A time to meet local and national celebrity athletes, including:
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Chris Kaag, President and Founder of IM ABLE Foundation
    • 1 to 2:45 p.m. – Nancy Kerrigan, Olympic Champion Figure Skater
    • 11 am. to 1 p.m. – Allison Baver, Olympic Short Track Speed Skater Bronze Medalist
    • 3 to 4 p.m. – Larry Zerbe, City of Reading Tennis Director

  • Athletic Alley – An area with numerous games and exciting athletic activities.
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Fast Pitch, Mini Golf Putting, 150 Challenge, Hopscotch, Jump Rope

  • Fitness Through the Ages – Live performances from dance groups, exercise teams and more.
    • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Jump Rope Team Performance
    • 1 to 2 p.m. – Drum Circle
    • 2 to 2:15 p.m. – Karate Demonstration

  • Move Right, Think Right, Feel Right – Activities around mindfulness and fitness.
    • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Reiki
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Athleisure Fashions
    • Noon to 4 p.m. – Chair Massage
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Athleisure Fashions
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Balance, Stretching, Dance for Wellness

  • Go Further with Food — An interactive area with healthy cooking demonstrations, information booths and games.
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Mindfulness Eating
    • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Go Further with Food Cooking Demonstrations, every hour on the hour. Limited seating.

  • Fitness Forever — a Fitness scavenger hunt, with an hourly drawing for a Fitbit®.
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Complete the course and enter to win!
    • Noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. – Random drawing for Fit Bits®. Need not be present to win.

Choose your race with both events starting and finishing at Reading Hospital’s iconic clock tower. The course winds through Wyomissing and West Reading parks.

Registration is FREE for both events and includes a t-shirt, (while supplies last), but you must register either online at http://150challenge.itsyourrace.com or day of race between7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. 5K RUN is limited to 300 participants,so register early!
