Hematology/Oncology doctors work in coordination with the McGlinn Cancer Institute. McGlinn Cancer Institute is also recognized by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons as offering the very best in cancer care. Only one in four hospitals that treat cancer receives this special approval or accreditation.

Oncology

Our oncology and radiation specialist team is comprised of board-certified oncologists with some of the most advanced training in cancer care in the region specializing in leading-edge treatment options, chemotherapeutic drugs, biologic agents and therapies specific to each patient’s immune system to help treat their cancer.

Hematology/Oncology also provides the following services:

  • A full-time inpatient oncologist, which means that if you or your loved one is admitted to the hospital as a complication of cancer or treatments, you will be seen by a cancer specialist right away to ensure you get the right care at the right time
  • A dedicated nurse navigator who contacts you 24 hours from the time of diagnosis to guide you through your treatment process
  • Administration of intravenous chemotherapy treatments for nearly all cancer types
  • Cancer treatment with immune therapies for diseases such as melanoma, prostate cancer, breast cancer and others
  • The most advanced radiation treatment including the use of the Trilogy™ system for incredibly precise targeting of your cancer
  • Mammosite – a five day targeted and minimally invasive internal breast cancer treatment
  • Hormonal manipulations to treat cancers such as prostate, ovarian, and breast cancer
  • Reconstructive surgery, including breast implants for mastectomy patients
